DIY: OMBRE SHOES

1.15.2013

It's my first DIY of the year! Hopefully my DIY project turned out fine. Instead of buying expensive shoes just to comply the trend, why not give your old sneakers a new face? This DIY project will not only give you a great look but it will help you save money because the things that you'll need are readily available in a cheap price OR you can get the following in your storage. LET'S START! =)

Things you'll be needing:

Your sneakers (I prefer you should use a light colored shoes), masking tape, dye (we call it "Jobus" in the Philippines), & Pale with warm water.

Pale with warm water

Masking tape (optional, it depends if your dye is rubber resistant)

Of course, your sneakers

Your Dye
Step 1:
Heat your water until it's almost boiling, fill your pale 3 inches high. Then put your powdered dye, then swirl it.

Step 2:
Cover the soles of your shoes with masking tape, this step depends whether you dye is rubber resistant.

Step 3:
Dip your shoe half-way through, leave it for 30 minutes or until you'll get the tint you desire.

Step 4:
Dip the tips (1/4) of your shoes for an hour.

After an hour, you now hang your shoes overnight until it dries, make sure you hang it properly (the tips of your shoes must be facing down) When it's already dry, you can now rock it on the streets!

You can also dye your shoelace!

I'm totally excited to wear this! I'm really really happy that this thing came out really cool!
