BOOKS LINED UP

3.30.2013

Since I have no friends to spend time this summer, because my mom didn't allow me to go with my friends to review for incoming college exams, she said it was way too far from home. =( So this summer my bestfriends would be my laptop and BOOKS! When I say books, I mean fictional books not educational, I never enjoyed reading educational books aside from historical books.

Thank God Optimus (le laptop) so far, is cooperating with me *Virtual High Five Optimus!* It is not overheating even though I am using it all day long, and also Blue Screen of Death comes rarely nowadays.

Oh we're here to talk about books not my laptop, sorry for that... So I got these books last December when National Bookstore had its Christmas sale in Market! Market! in Taguig, and still not a single page has been read. haha. (schoolwork makes a good reason why hihi).

Books lined up:

  1. Ghostgirl: Homecoming by Tonya Hurley
  2. War Horse by Michael Morpurgo
  3. Odyssey by Homer
  4. Vampire Kisses 6: Royal Blood by Ellen Schreiber

1. Ghostgirl: Homecoming by Tonya Hurley

I was surprised when I saw that book on the racks and I didn't expect that I would actually find these kind of books on a booksale because normally, in booksales, they are selling books that are not that famous, but by the way I'm so happy because I got it for only 100php (2.50$) instead of 615php (15.38$).

GREAT NEWS: I'm 3/4 way through! YAY! OTHER NEWS: I've started reading it like 3 months ago.
Well, I have to study first right?! Junior's last few months were all about cramming requirements and projects.

2. War Horse by Michael Morpurgo

I first saw War Horse in theaters, then our Social Science teacher gave us a list of movies to watch for our project so I've watched it again, then my mom saw the book on piles of other books (haha) then she showed it to me. DAMN! Jeremy Irvine is effortlessly looking hot on the cover (an add up reason why I bought the book // haha) despite of the dirt all over his face, well Ellie Goulding, you're a one lucky woman. Bought this book for only 100php (2.50$) instead of 365php (9.13$).

3. Odyssey by Homer

The famous epic by a Greek poet, Homer. Well this last few months I got hooked in Sea of Monsters bu Rick Riordan and our teacher said that book was quite based on the epic by Homer which is Odyssey. So I got curious I bought the book, well I didn't bought it on sale but that's fine // Bought it 225php (5.63$). =)

4. Vampire Kisses 6: Royal Blood by Ellen Schreiber

It's a bad habit of me that I buy the last book in the series like last time I bought book #9 and #10 of 39 Clues and until now I haven't read it because I can't relate to the story my mind goes "what happened" "what happened" "what happened" so I stopped reading it and until now, I'm planning to buy the 1st book which cost 615php (15.38$) so I'm hoping National Bookstore will have another booksale/warehouse sale because I've bought book 9 and 10 for only 75php (1.88$) no kidding. =))

The reason I bought this book is because I like the cover (I know, I know, there's a famous saying that  says "Don't judge the book by it's cover." but I've read the summary on the cover and I also like it sooooo) =) And I also like vampire novels. But the thing with this book is that, it's the last of its sequel but my cousin told me that the books are not that connected to each other because every book has its own story so I'm thinking of reading it this summer. =)
