Long time no blogging right?! I promise that I'd be continuing to blog because these bloggers inspired me to do a better and worthy blog posts. Yes, you're right, I've attended Blogopolis 2013 yesterday to here some inspiring thoughts and techniques from bloggers who are already blogging for 5-8 years that are already successful and have loyal readers who visits their blog whereever, whenever, whatever.
Here's Ms Maria Ressa, she has been a journalist in Asia for more than 25 years, most of them are as following: CNN’s bureau chief in Manila then Jakarta, and now, the CEO of Rappler.com. She gave an emotional talk about the super typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) victims they have encountered when they went to Tacloban and Leyte.
She discussed how internet and blogging can change the world news. Combining journalism and networks is a very efficient way on how to give people a better service on people waiting for news to come. She gave thoughts on how social media can help journalism spread news about the people who are affected by Yolanda (Haiyan), one of the keys is Facebook's new feature, the face recognition on photos. Rappler.com will take photos of people who are in the airport and are safe and then, they will upload it on Facebook and the face recognition will do the rest of the job to let the relatives of the victims know that they are safe.
TJ Manotoc here, gave a talk about Social Media in the Newsroom, also as a news anchor and journalist, it's his job to serve the people around him. Our generation rarely watch the television nowadays and they've find a way to let us know what are the ways on how to connect to us, on how news can reach us. Well, the answer is basically the social media, Facebook, Twitter and other.
Ana and Aisa here, gave a little talk about taking your readers offline, I was a bit thrilled when they said that they are actually the organizers of Bloggers United!
Abe Olandres, the man behind Yugatech.com (Philippine's top technology blog) discussed on how to get a better traffic, taking the quest for the next million.
Chuckie and Yen Dreyfus, the lovely couple, are here to give a talk with #TheUltimateSelfie: How to manage your social media accounts. Talking about how to be responsible, the dos and donts on your social media accounts.
